Rosptitsesoyuz: Financial Crisis Won’t Have Serious Impact on Domestic Poultry Production Industry Development Growth

Galina Bobyleva, the General Director of Rosptitsesoyuz (Russian Poultry Union), considers that the effects of the present financial crisis won’t have a serious impact on the rates of active growth of domestic poultry production industry. “We may be sure that measures which are currently taken by Russian Government will afford Russian poultry producers to fulfill all their obligations within the frames of the state program in full”, - she said.

According to her, this year the increase of poultry product manufacturing is to amount to about 300 thousand tons, up to 2.2 million tons in comparison with 2007. An average annual growth of poultry production industry for the last 11 years amounts to 20%. She also notes that it is necessary to reduce the poultry imports quota.

Together with that she admits that today poultry enterprises face the shortage of current assets, and they also have some concerns about the poultry product demand decrease.
